Student Support

InformNet offers support to students through various channels to ensure a successful learning experience.

Course Instructors and Virtual Classroom Support

Each course is facilitated by a certified teacher who provides daily instruction, assignments, and evaluations. Teachers offer virtual classroom sessions in Brightspace for:

  • Pre-assessment focus: Preparing students before assessments.
  • Remedial instruction: Addressing areas where students need improvement.
  • Supplementary content: Enhancing understanding of course material.
  • Problem-solving sessions: Assisting with complex concepts.
  • Individual meetings and parent-teacher conferences: Engaging with students and their families to discuss progress.
  • Community building: Fostering a supportive learning environment.

These virtual meetings are recorded and may be embedded back into the course when applicable.

Learning Check-Ins

InformNet teachers conduct “Learning Check-Ins,” which are teacher-initiated video conferences designed to assess student learning. Each session lasts approximately 15 minutes and is intended to evaluate the student’s understanding of their submitted work. During a Learning Check-In, students are required to have their cameras and microphones on and be prepared to share their screen.

Online Proctoring

To maintain academic integrity, InformNet partners with Integrity Advocate to provide secure online proctoring for key assessments and final exams. This ensures that assessments are conducted in a monitored online environment, upholding high standards of fairness and integrity.

Brightspace Learning Management System

InformNet utilizes Brightspace as its learning management system, where students can access course materials, submit assignments, and communicate with instructors. The platform includes features such as internal messaging and announcements to facilitate effective communication between students and teachers.

  • Every student is added to the “Homeroom” course. – students have access to school activities, tips on working with technology, Online learning resources, direct teacher emails and a school calendar of events
  • All Brightspace course have an Announcement area – outlines key events and course information, direct teacher emails, and a place to request a virtual meeting.

Support Videos

InformNet provides a series of support videos to assist students in navigating the online learning environment. These videos address common questions and offer guidance on using the platform effectively.
