Partnerships

For over two decades, InformNet has been at the forefront of online education in Manitoba, providing quality, flexible learning opportunities for high school students across the province. As Manitoba’s official provincial online high school, InformNet is the result of a strong and evolving partnership between Manitoba Education, local school divisions, and high schools.

A History of Collaboration

InformNet was established to address the growing need for accessible online education, offering students the ability to complete high school credits while maintaining their connection to their home schools. Supported by Manitoba Education and operated in collaboration with key partner school divisions (St. James-Assiniboia and Pembina Trails), InformNet has continuously adapted to meet the changing needs of students, parents, and educators. This partnership ensures that all courses align with the provincial curriculum and that students receive the same level of instruction and assessment as in traditional classrooms.

Adapting to the Challenges of COVID-19

The COVID-19 pandemic underscored the vital role of online learning in Manitoba’s education system. During this time, InformNet played a role in ensuring continuity of learning by scaling up course offerings, expanding enrollment, and providing essential digital tools for students and teachers. Educators were offered online courses, and support systems were enhanced to accommodate students adjusting to virtual learning. The success of these initiatives reinforced the value of InformNet as a needed pillar of Manitoba’s education system.

Continuing Innovation and Growth

Today, InformNet remains committed to innovation, working closely with Manitoba Education to integrate the latest technologies, such as AI-driven support and exploring the capabilities of Manitoba’s interactive learning platform – Brightspace. Partnerships with school divisions continue to ensure that students receive both the independence of online learning and the guidance of certified Manitoba teachers. Additionally, InformNet’s connection with Brightspace, Integrity Advocate, Formsite, SORA and ReadSpeaker enhances its ability to deliver a seamless, interactive, and user-friendly online education experience.

As we look to the future, InformNet will continue to strengthen its partnerships to provide an inclusive, engaging, and high-quality online learning experience for students across Manitoba. Through collaboration, innovation, and a dedication to student success, InformNet remains a leader in the evolution of online education.
